The list of most sensational and sizzling actresses of Telugu, Tamil film industry who have not only killer looks but terrific acting too. Some of them are not born in south India but still people loves them.
This list is created according to my personal likes and opinion. There are no intentions to hurt or praise anyone. There may be many other actresses which I haven’t seen or they are not active at present. But this list covers most of the modern active beauties of South Indian Cinema. Also I would like to thank Wikipedia for helping me to collect some great information about my favorite actresses.
1. Samantha Ruth Prabhu
My most favorite and top in the list actress since I saw her in Ye Maaya Chesave. Cute Face and innocent smile are the
trademark of her. Sometimes I remember Ayesha Takia when I see her. Born on April 28, 1987 to a Malayali mother and a Telugu father, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu as the youngest child of the family. Samantha completed a degree in commerce at Stella Maris College, Chennai.
In her debut movie Ye Maaya Chesave, she was the “scene-stealer” and her beauty was alluring. She was the girl to watch out for.
Another movies like Brindavanam, Moscowin Kavery, Baana Kaathadi set her in the row of leading actresses.
2. Anushka Shetty
2nd most favorite actress of mine. If you see her in Arundhati, you will be
speechless by his royal screen presence. Born on 7 November 1981 in a Bunt family of Bellipady in Mangalore. She did her schooling and college in Bangalore. She was also a Yoga Instructor and has trained under yoga guru Bharat Thakur.
This tall and gorgeous beauty debuted in the 2005 Telugu film Super starring Nagarjuna which was super hit at box office. Later her performance in Vikramarkudu make her noticeable. But in Arundhati in which she had played the role of Jejamma, she got high critical acclaim and become one of the strong actress of Telugu Film Industry.
3. Kajal Agarwal

Kajal made her acting debut in the 2004 Hindi film Kyun… Ho Gaya Na!, as a minor supporting role as the friend of lead actress Aishwarya Rai. Telugu film Chandamama became her first major successful film. In 2010, Magadheera which was the biggest blockbuster of all time in Telugu cinema, she played the role of Yuvarani Mitravinda Devi and Indira
(Indu) by which she became one of the most sought-after actresses in the Telugu film industry, catapulting her into the main foray of lead Telugu actresses.
4. Ileana D’Cruze
Slim Beauty !!!! Ileana was born on August 19, 1987 in Mumbai, India as the second child to her parents.
With fabulous body that any woman would love to possess, she made her debut in 2006, in the romantic Telugu film Devadasu, which became the year’s first major commercial success. She debuted in Tamil with Kedi. Telugu movie Pokiri, which was one of the highest money grosser, set her in top slot actresses. She appeared in many commercially successful movies like Jalsa, Kick etc.
She is about to make a debut in Bollywood with Anurag Basu’s Burfee starring Ranbir Kapoor.
5. Shruti K. Haasan
The only actress which I like in Bollywood (huh.. what they call it, instead saying IFI – Indian Film Industry). See her in Luck and you
will remember Lara Croft of Tomb Rider. Born on 28 January 1986 Shruti Kamal Haasan is the daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan and Sarika. She has studied at
Abacus in Chennai, until 10th grade, when she moved to Mumbai to study psychology at St Andrew’s College.
She debuted as a child artist in Hey Ram in the role of a daughter of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. After that she was appeared in Luck as a lead actress. Her recent Telugu release Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu got huge success on box office.
Apart from acting, she is an amazing singer and sung as a playback singer in many films including Thevar Magan, Chachi 420, Hey Ram, Luck etc.
6. Kamalinee Mukherjee
I started to like her when I see her in Godavari. Born on 4 March, 1980 in Kolkata. After graduating with a degree in English literature from Loreto College in Kolkata, she took up a hotel management course in New Delhi, but left it midway.
She made her acting debut in Phir Milenge. She gained recognition in the multiple-award winner, Telugu film Anand.
7. Sada / Sadha
Sada also known as Sadha with the Real name Sadaf Mohammed Saiyed, born on 17 February 1984 in Mumbai into a Marathi Muslim family in
Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. She attended school at Ratnagiri Sacred Hearts Convent.
She has debuted in Telugu movie Jayam for which she won the Best Actress Award. After that she appeared in many films like Praanam, Naaga, Aethiri, Monalisa (Kannad), Janmam (Malayalam)including the Tamil movie Anniyan, which is her most successful movie to date.
She has debuted in Bollywood with film Love Khichdi and after that she was appeared in Click.
8. Genelia D’Souza
Naughty, Bubbly and very energetic actress who always keeps you concentrated while on screen. Born on August 5, 1987 in Mumbai into a Mangalorean Catholic family. D’Souza studied at the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra and later joined St. Andrew’s College in Bandra to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree of Management Studies.
She began her acting career with Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. She was recognized for her role in Boys the same year, and later established herself in Telugu cinema by acting in several Telugu films during 2003–2005.
Her remarkable performances are in different blockbusters like Bommarilu, Ready, Jaane Tu Ya Jaaane Na etc.
9. Trisha Krishnan
Another bubbly girl. See her in Athadu and you will fall in love with her. Born on
4 May, 1983 in Chennai into a Tamil family hailing from Palakkad, Kerala. She attended S.A.E.C College in Ramnad and later studied at Sacred Heart Church Park School, Chennai.
After her first appearance in the 1999 Tamil film Jodi, in a supporting role, she won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her first lead role in the 2002 film Mounam Pesiyadhe. She later rose to fame starring in the successful films, Saamy (2003) and Ghilli (2004) in Tamil cinema and Varsham (2004) in Telugu cinema, for which she secured her first South Filmfare Best Actress Award. She made her Bollywood debut in the 2010 film Khatta Meetha opposite Akshay Kumar.
10. Priya Anand
Born on 17 September in Chennai, Priya is the only child of a Tamilian mother and a half Telugu, half Marathi father. she studied Communications and Journalism at University of Albany, USA.
She has worked in many commercials like Nutrine Maha Lacto, Prince Jewelery and Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Her first release was a Tamil movie Vaamanan, which was an average movie. After that she has acted in another Tamil movie Pugaippadam.
Her role in Telugu movie Leader gained overwhelming response and she become well known actress in Telugu Cinema. After that she appeared in Telugu movie Rama Rama Krishna Krishna in 2010.
11. Tamanna Bhatia
Born on 21 December 1989 in Mumbai, India, to a punjabi couple.
She made her acting debut in 2005 with Hindi film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra.
Also in 2005, she made her Telugu debut with movie Sri. In 2006, she appeared in her first Tamil film, Kedi. In 2007, she starred in two films, Happy Days and Kalloori, which both earned her critical acclaim.
With many commercial successes like Padikathavan, Ayan, Paiyaa and Siruthai, she established herself as one of the leading actresses in the south Indian film industry.
Her eyes….. OMG!!! Makes me crazy. With the real name Diana Mariam Kurian she was born on 18 November, 1984 in Bangalore, Karnataka to Malayali parents. She attended Marthoma College for her bachelor’s degree in English Literature.
She made her acting debut in 2003 in the Malayalam film Manassinakkare. She debuted in Tamil cinema with Ayya (2004) and in Telugu cinema with Lakshmi (2005).
Following several commercial successes such as Chandramukhi (2005), Ghajini (2005) and Billa (2007), she had established herself as one of the leading actresses in Tamil cinema.
13. Shraddha Das
Born March 4 1986 in Mumbai, Maharashtra to Bengali parents. She graduated from University of Mumbai with a
Bachelor of Mass Media degree in journalism.
Shraddha Das made her acting debut in 2008 with the Telugu film Sidhu from Srikakulam. She thereafter starred in a number of Telugu films, including Target, 18, 20 Love Story, Diary, Adhineta, Maro Charitra, Arya 2 and Nagavalli.
14. Parvati Melton
Born in 1989. She acted with Raja in the film Vennela, which turned out to be a success. She acted in the Super Hit movie (Malayalam) film Hallo along with South Indian star Mohanlal.
15. Vega Tamotia
Born on 7 May in Chhattisgarh, she completed her education in Economics from the University
of New South Wales and then attended Indian Institute of Management Bangalore as part of an exchange programme.
She is best known for her performances in Telugu movie Saroja , Pasanga and Happy Happy Ga.
16. Laila Mehdin
Laila Mehdin was born on 24 October 1980.
She made her debut in the Telugu film Yegire Pavurama and she is best known for her critically acclaimed and award-winning performances in the films Nandha and Pithamagan.
A pure Indian Beauty who has touched everyone’s heart with Telugu super hit Parugu. She has appeared in nearly 20
films as a child artiste.
18. Sonia Deepti
Sonia Deepti was born on 29 July, 1984 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. She has aquired a degree in computer applications.
She made her acting debut in the 2007 Telugu film Happy Days, which was a stupendous blockbuster and won six awards at the 2008 Filmfare Awards , one of which was the Award for Best Supporting Actress for Sonia for her performance.
19. Shriya Saran
Born on September 11, 1982 in Dehradun. She completed her schooling fom Delhi Public School, Haridwar. She later
studied at Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature.
Saran made her film debut in 2001 with Ishtam and had her first commercial success with the Telugu film Santhosham. In 2007, Saran starred in Sivaji: The Boss, the highest grossing Tamil film at that time. In 2008, Saran played the lead role in the American-Indian co-production The Other End of the Line.
Born 26 October, 1985 in Kochi, Kerala, India. She attended St. Theresa’s College for Women in Kochi and earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in English Literature.
Making her acting debut in Malayalam film Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award for the film.
In late 2008, Asin made her début in Bollywood, with Ghajini, the remake of its Tamil namesake, subsequently winning the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.
